UOS is a judgement-free synagogue and recognizes observing halachic standards or how to observe those standards is a personal decision. Our traditional standards are derived from a guide created by Rabbi Asher Lopatin and reviewed and updated by Rabbi Sprung. Click here for a full list of our dos and don'ts and more information surrounding kashruth supervision.

As one of just a few Mikvahs in the Houston area, UOS welcomes you to visit for whatever you may need! All immersions are by appointment only, which can be scheduled by contacting the shul office. For any questions surrounding the Mikvah, our Dirctor of Mikvah, Alisha Klapholtz, and Educator and Halachic Consultant, Ruthie Shulman, will have the answers!
