UOS was created more than 40 years ago when three Orthodox synagogues merged to become one new shul in a booming area of Houston.  UOS is home to members from a variety of places and backgrounds who together continue to create a warm, gracious atmosphere.  We regularly host visitors from other cities and countries.  Whether it's for a short-term need or long-term interest, we will be happy to help facilitate your Jewish tour of Houston.
