Aharon and Emunah Carmel to our community.
Aharon is our part time Educational Director at UOS. His responsibilities include
adult and youth education as well as regular Torah reading, and speaking and
teaching on Shabbat. Aharon is a highly motivated and dynamic educator with
extensive experience in formal and informal education.
Aharon has already taught a wide variety of classes and programs including
a class on Tisha B’Av, a crash course in Hebrew reading and a High Holiday
learner’s service. Aharon will also be teaching some of the UOS chavurot.
He recently instituted a popular class each Shabbat morning prior to shacharit.
Aharon has extensive teaching experience including teaching at the Hartman
High School in Jerusalem, Teaching Jewish Studies and Math at the Ofrah School,
serving as Principal at the Kinor David High School Yeshiva in Ateret and of
the Ahavat Chaim Yeshiva in Kochav Hashachar and Teaching Mishna and Navi at
the Gush Etzion School.
Aharon’s educational background includes training at the Amiel Institute,
Ohr Torah Stone, Ner Le’ELef program of advanced training for Rabbis,
educators, and spiritual leaders for the Diaspora, an M.A. in Tanach from Bar
Ilan University, and a B.A. in education and Teaching certificate from the
Herzog College with special focus on Tanach and Oral Law. Aharon also completed
a Hesder program combining Judaic Studies and army service at Yeshivat Hesder
Har Etzion.
Aharon is married to Emunah. Together they have three children. Emunah has
a B.A. in Judaism and learning resources as well as an M.A. in Judaism and
art. Both Aharon and Emunah are teaching at Robert M. Beren Academy.
